innovators in the sense that they often considerably modified existing
apparatus and appliances, and adapted industrial and chemical processes
to ends for which they were not originally designed."- E.J. Holmyard

- A three way split with Ctephin/Ghoul Detail/and Spagirus is available from Roil Noise (which can be found here) or from me directly or at Ethedrone.
- 'Shravaka' is now available from the cool Italian label Palustre, or from me directly or at Ethedrone.
- The Spagirus album called 'She Understands' is
available for free download from my friends of Ctephin at the Umbrella Noize
Collective, and you can get it here.
- The Spagirus album 'Lose The Mind Altogether' is now available for
order from the fine folks at Anticlock
Records. Let's give them a big round of applause. Also, Spagirus
(as well as Skillful Means and friends such as Photon Ghoul, Anvil
Salute, and Gray Field Recordings) will be playing this year's 2nd
Annual Ok Electric at The Living
Arts Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the 19th and 20th. Don't miss
this awesome two day event (I know I said I'd only post live shows on
Myspace from now on, but this one is just too good not to mention).
- CANCELLED Spagirus is playing in Ft. Worth Texas at
Warehouse
Gallery on Sunday, July 31. My cohort from Skillful Means, Kevin
Searle, will accompany my dulcimer sounds with bass guitar feedback for
this show. Also playing that night Terry Horn/Mark
Cook/Andrea,
Ryan Supak, and
Plankton. Also, I will not post live shows to the news section of this
web site anymore. Refer to my MySpace page (which is in the links
section) to keep up to date on when Spagirus (and Skillful Means) will
be playing live.
- The new Spagirus album 'Shravaka' is recorded and mastered. I am
planning to shop it around to different labels (rather than release it
on Ethedrone, which has several releases from other great artists
planned for the near future). If you have any ideas of where I can send
copies of Shravaka, or you have a label and would be interested in
recieving a copy, shoot me an email.
- Quick update: Spagirus will be playing this Sunday
(May, 22) at Beerland on Red River St. in Austin. This was kind of last
minute, but now you know. Also playing that night: Book of Shadows, Ralph White,
Catfish, Peter & the Wolf, Diamond
Caverns, DJ Aaron Mace
- Spagirus will be playing at this year's Burning
Flipside certainly on Saturday night (around 9ish), but maybe some
other impromptu, random performances, so if you are going to be at
Flipside this year, check it out. Recording for 'Shravaka' has been
slightly delayed, but will be getting done fairly soon (hopefully).
Stay tuned for that.
- The album Lose the Mind Altogether is now available
from Ethedrone Muzac records.
- Spagirus is playing at Church of The Friendly Ghost on
April 9th for 'Drone Night' along with Inalonelyplace, Doug Ferguson,
Bully Pulpit, and The Weeds. I cannot stress enough how wonderful these
other
projects are. It will be a night you won't want to miss. Also, the next
Spagirus album (Shravaka) will be recorded in late April at Doug
Ferguson's studio 'The
Still' so watch out for that.
- I have updated the links page (they should all work
now), and I have added some sample .mp3s to the about page.
- Spagirus is playing prepared mountain dulcimer at
Church of The Friendly Ghost in Austin, TX again on December 3 opening
up for Realicide from Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Spagirus is playing an all prepared mountain
dulcimer set at Church of The Friendly Ghost in Austin, TX on November
14. Inalonelyplace and The Gray Field Recordings will also be playing
this show.
-
The Spagirus web site is now launched and ready for
business, while still under major construction. Stay tuned for more
updates in the future. A special thanks goes to Dustin with ivdt for
making this site possible.
- Spagirus played the OK Electric event in Tulsa Oklahoma
on August 21, 04 with sound textures added by members of Terminal Shock
and Anvil Salute. This event went very well and was an inspiration to
all involved (the lineup was Anvil Salute, Gray Field Recordings
w/techix,
Spagirus, and a sound/video installation from Wireframe Birdmen).
Thanks to Jake, Jenn, Sean, and the Living Arts crew for making such a
wonderful event.
